The land is secured. The next question everyone asks is: when do we start building, and when do the doors open?
Here is where things stand and where they are headed.
The 1.18-acre site at 150 Stadium Dr was acquired in early 2026. It sits directly across from the new Alice Memorial Stadium, on a road that everyone in this town knows. The property is clear, flat, and ready for construction.
The next milestone is groundbreaking. Before we can break ground, the chapel needs architectural plans, engineering, and permits through Jim Wells County. We are working through that process now.
After groundbreaking comes construction: foundation, walls, roof, interior. The target is to have the chapel completed and ready to open its doors by 2027.
That timeline is a target, not a guarantee. Construction schedules depend on fundraising progress, permitting, weather, and contractor availability. We will not rush this. The building needs to be done right, because it is going to serve this town for a long time.
